An Age Of Innocence.
Summer is the time for children to be out and exploring, while they are still innocent of the machinations and dark ways of the world and its people. Parents enjoying an ice cream with their children, talking about what they see and what they know, and protecting against a small dog which had been loudly yapping at the child’s feet.
Mixing in with the crowds, or waiting for them to arrive and join in the music, marvel at the colours and costumes, try out the deckchairs for size.
Or take a break from a bicycle tour at the edge of the market square, filled with people looking at handmade and artisan pottery – more for adults than anyone else – and perhaps forming an idea for their own artistic creations in the future.
Playing with the simplest of materials, and gaining just as much enjoyment. The age of innocence, before the realities of education, before the first mobile phone. The best time of our lives.
